Here are a few photos from ministry and some fun experiences on the field from the past month!
My team worked on re-concreting a wall most of last week. We are learning tons of new skills!
Katie and I working on removing the old tiles from the roof so we can replace them with new ones. This process requires a ton of work in order to be able to save the old tiles for future use.
My team mate, Esther learned how to drive the tractor in order to pull down a tree.
My team mate, Vivian raking on the front drive
My team mate, Gracie chopping plants with the machete to keep the road clear.
A local farm right next to the property we live on. They grow tons of vegetables and sell to vendors in Calacalí, the town we live in outside of Quito.
On adventure day that we have once a week, while were were at a park we spotted a herd of alpacas just munching on grass in the middle of the playground. Apparently a normal sight for Ecuador.
On Sabbath, our camp dog, Peña and I went on a hike covering the perimeter of the 300 acre property where we live.
Because the land is so mountainous, people have to farm right on the mountainside which ending up looking like this.
This is one of the views we were able to see on an adventure day during our self-led tour of Quito. Straight ahead you can see the Basílica del Voto Nacional that is over 400 years old. This cathedral is on of the oldest structures in Ecuador. The city is built in between the mountains and covers the hills.
Hope you enjoyed a little taste of what life has looked like for the past month!
